Method

50/100 is called 50 per cent and written 50% 50/100 is called 50 per cent and written 50% .
To convert a fraction or decimal into a percentage, multiply by 100 To convert a fraction or decimal into a percentage, multiply by 100.
Examples
3/4 × 100 = 300 ÷ 4 = 75%
     
0.75 × 100 = 75%



2/5 × 100 = 200 ÷ 5 = 40%
      

0.4 × 100 = 40%
